Danielle Kronmuller-Harvey

philosophy

My teaching philosophy is grounded in the belief that nutrition education should be engaging, inclusive, and relevant to real-world practice. I strive to create student-centered learning environments that move beyond memorization and foster critical thinking through active learning strategies such as case studies, debates, and simulations. These approaches allow students to apply knowledge, collaborate with peers, and develop problem-solving skills that mirror professional practice. Equally important is preparing students for their future roles as dietitians. I emphasize professional development by encouraging reflection, adaptability, and confidence-building through structured feedback and exposure to current trends in the field. I also prioritize inclusivity and cultural competence, integrating diverse perspectives and addressing social determinants of health to help students understand the importance of equity in dietetics. My ultimate goal is to empower students with the knowledge, skills, and mindset to contribute meaningfully to the profession.
