All WCU Locations to Close Sat. Evening and Move to Remote Status

The following message applies to all Chester County and Philadelphia locations. West Chester University is monitoring a severe winter storm that will affect the entire region. As of 6 p.m. on Saturday, January 24, through Tuesday, January 27, all in-person classes will be cancelled and all WCU locations will close. During this time, in-person instruction will move to remote delivery, where feasible. Current online courses will meet as scheduled. Essential employees are to report at their normal time. Non-essential employees should operate remotely during this time pursuant to the Telecommuting and Remote Work Policy, and should continue to provide services in accordance with the office hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

  1. We encourage all residential students to leave campus. Residence halls will remain open for those students not able to depart campus.
  2. Francis Harvey Green Library and Presser Music Library will be closed. Please visit the University Libraries' website for the most up-to-date information.
  3. Sykes Student Union will be closed.
  4. Campus Recreation Center will be closed. Please visit the Campus Recreation home page for the most up-to-date information.
  5. SECC Dining Commons will be open on an abbreviated schedule. Please see below:
    • Sunday: 10:30 a.m. – 8 p.m.
    • Monday: 7:30 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.
    • Tuesday: 7:30 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.
  6. Student Health Services will be closed. If you need to schedule or reschedule an appointment, please contact the office at 610-436-2509.
  7. Counseling Center will be closed. If you need to schedule or reschedule an appointment, please contact the office at 610-436-2301.
  8. All University surface parking lots will be closed for snow removal and garages will be opened for parking. Please move all vehicles from surface parking lots to the garages to allow for snow removal.
Shuttle Service Information

Shuttle service will continue as long as roads remain passable. Please check WCU Shuttle Website and the TransLoc app for updated shuttle announcements.
