Grants
- NSF ADVANCE Catalyst: Lead & Accelerate University Change for (LAUnCh) STEM Faculty at WCU, Principal Investigator, ($300,000, 1/2024-12/2026)The project will permit us to assess equity gaps for faculty in STEM, allowing for a prioritization of equity-minded practices across campus. By connecting with various stakeholders across campus that lead us in decision-making and strategic planning priorities, hearing from current STEM faculty, and connecting with other successful ADVANCE program institutions, we will develop a strategic plan that addresses the removal of existing systemic barriers which have historically excluded minoritized women and faculty of color in STEM fields.
- ASAP! Actuarial Science Academy Program, Principal Investigator, 2013 – 2016. Over $47,000 from internal funding sources and the Joint CAS and SOA Committee on Actuarial Diversity Summer Actuarial Program grant supported this program aimed to broaden the participation of underrepresented minorities in Actuarial Science and to encourage more students to enroll in the Actuarial Science program at WCU.
- Actuaries Club of Philadelphia Annual Gift, 2009 – 2020. Secured $500 gift for our Actuarial Science program annually to be used as an incentive for our students to take and pass Actuarial Science exams while still in school. ($6000 to date)
