Meet the Tutors

We look forward to welcoming everyone back to the Writing Center in the library, room 251. You can find us on the main floor to the right of the circulation desk. (We are directly over Starbucks.) We offer both online and in-person tutoring.

 

John Carroll

John Carroll

Pronouns: He/Him/His

John Carroll is a Graduate Student at West Chester University. His major is English, and this is his first semester as a student at West Chester University. Outside of the Writing Center, he enjoys traveling, rock 'n roll, filmmaking, and reading literature. Fun Fact: John shook hands with Chase Utley, Ryan Howard, and Jason Kelce.

Lauren DiEdwardo

Lauren DiEdwardo

Pronouns: She/Her/Hers

Lauren DiEdwardo is a first year graduate student at West Chester University. Her Undergraduate degree was Linguistics with a minor in Japanese, and her Graduate degree is Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). Outside of the Writing Center, she enjoys reading, traveling, and studying foreign languages.

Ryan Fernandez

Ryan Fernandez

Ryan is a Graduate Student at West Chester University. His major is English with a focus in creative writing and critical education. Ryan returned Fall 2024 to the Writing Center, having tutored at the WCU Writing Center a decade prior ('11-'14). Outside of the Writing Center, Ryan enjoys the homestead and apiary he's developing in Bethlehem, PA.

Sylvie Goodnough is a 4th year at West Chester University. Her major is environmental geography, with minors in French and ACES. She has been at the writing center since Spring 2023. Outside of the writing center, Sylvie enjoys reading, scrapbooking, and walking aimlessly. Fun fact: her favorite superhero is Martian Manhunter!

Kaleigh is a first year grad student at West Chester University studying Communication and Media. This is her first year tutoring at the writing center! Outside of the writing center you can find Kaleigh listening to music, tailgating the Phillies game, or enjoying a nice walk through the borough :)

Jenna Loquercio is a second year Clinical Psychology Doctoral student at West Chester University. She started at the Writing Center in Fall 2025. Outside of the Writing Center, Jenna enjoys cooking, pilates, and hanging out with friends! Fun Fact: Jenna was a D1 springboard diver in college.

Isabel Marshall is a 4th year undergraduate student at West Chester University. Her majors are English and French Language Studies, with minors in Linguistics and Civic & Professional Leadership. She has been at the Writing Center since Summer 2025. Outside of the Writing Center, she participates in the WCU Marching Band Color Guard, and enjoys taking advantage of local service opportunities. Fun Fact: Isabel Marshall has worked as a grant writing intern for the Volunteer English Program

Shannon O'Loghlin

Shannon is a third-year PsyD student at West Chester University. She is studying Clinical Psychology and is currently providing neuropsychological assessments and various therapies in the local community. Shannon is new the the Writing Center and is excited to support WCU students by offering a safe and creative space. Outside of the Writing Center, Shannon enjoys reading, trying new restaurants, and spending time with friends and family. Fun Fact: Shannon is learning how to bake sourdough!!

Jordan is a 4th year undergraduate student at West Chester, majoring in English education with a minor in linguistics. This is her second semester in the Writing Center, having previously tutored WRT 120 at the LARC. Outside of school, Jordan enjoys hiking, painting, poetry, and stopping to smell the roses-- despite her favorite flower being a crocus :).

Emma (She/Her) is both a returning and first-year graduate student at West Chester University. She earned her bachelor’s degree in English Spring of 25’ and is now pursuing a degree in School Counseling. This is her first semester working at the Writing Center. Outside of work, Emma enjoys spending time outdoors, reading, and oil painting.

Hi, my name is Beck! I’m a transfer student from Drexel University who’s currently in my first full year at WCU and my fifth year of college overall. I’m majoring in English with a minor in Digital Humanities and New Media. While Fall 2025 will be my first semester at WCU’s Writing Center, I previously spent a year tutoring at the Drexel Writing Center and had a great time, so I look forward to working with more peers in a new environment! Outside of the Writing Center, I enjoy curating playlists, experimenting with fashion, and writing silly poetry about my life. Fun fact: I’ve been a kpop fan since 2019! My favorite groups are XLOV and Stray Kids.

Morgan is a second year Graduate student at West Chester University. Her major is Public Health with a concentration in community. This is Morgan's first year at the Writing Center! Outside of the Writing Center, she enjoys watching Real Housewives, listening to music, reading the NY times, and practicing yoga. Fun fact, Morgan is neighbors with Bradley Cooper!

Amaya Simmons

Amaya Simmons

Amaya is thrilled to join the Writing Center at West Chester University this year. She is currently pursuing a Master’s in Social Work and has a keen interest in how writing can serve as a powerful tool for personal and social change. This is her first year at both West Chester and the writing center. She is passionate about creative arts, including drawing, painting, and exploring new movies. A notable highlight of her experiences was studying abroad in India, where she immersed herself in a new culture and refined her artistic skills. Amaya enjoys drawing portraits of people in her free time, capturing their unique expressions and personalities. She looks forward to combining her love for creativity with her academic goals and assisting others in finding their voice through writing.

Laura is a third year doctoral student studying clinical psychology. She started in the writing center in the Fall of 2025. Outside of the writing center she enjoys reading, trying new coffee shops, and spending time with her cat.

Fahim is a graduate student at West Chester University, pursuing a Master's in Computer Science. He has been with the Writing Center since Fall 2024 and currently serves as a Peer Tutor Coordinator.

Outside of the Writing Center, he enjoys traveling and trying out new food. Fun fact: Fahim loves going to car meets and can talk about cars for hours.

Angela Zhang

Angela Zhang

Angela is a first-year graduate student at West Chester University, and it's her first year at the LARC. She is in the Transformative Education and Social Change program. Angela is currently tutoring WRT 120. She went to undergrad at Bryn Mawr College and worked at the writing center there. Prior to grad school, Angela taught middle school science in the Philly school district for 3 years. Outside of the LARC, Angela enjoys creating upcycled wearables and home decor.

Amy Hancox earned her B.A. in English Literature & Secondary Education from Eastern University and her M.S. in Higher Education Policy and Student Affairs (HEPSA) from West Chester University. Her research interests include ADHD & the role of academically supporting students, especially during the transition from high school into college.
