2022 SAP ERPsim North America Competition participants
ERPsim game replicates and elevates real-world business setting. The goal is to manage a cereal manufacturing company profitably and efficiently by using SAP ERP software. The competition took place on Mar. 25th, which has over 100 students from 25 universities participating. The team of West Chester University, formed by Joseph Harkins, Seth McLaughlin, and Andrew Zou, entered finalist and placed 9th in the America Region.
Joseph Harkins
Joseph Harkins is a student at West Chester University finishing his first year. He is planning to double major in Supply Chain Management and German. He has participated in two case competitions, the ERPSim competition, and works closely with Dr. Zhu in the management department. Joseph values taking advantages of any opportunities presented to him and asking questions so that he can continue to develop his skills and practical knowledge.
Seth McLaughlin
Seth McLaughlin is a senior Economics and Finance major from York, Pennsylvania. He is part of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity and manage Barstool West Chester here on campus. He is graduating Spring 2022 and looking to start a career in finance in Florida.
Andrew Zou
Andrew Zou is a freshman finance and computer science major from Downingtown, Pennsylvania. He currently interns at a search fund and leads an intercollegiate sustainable investing club. Upon graduation in 2025, he plans to work in fintech or consulting in New York City.

Emily Gowman
Emily is a junior at West Chester University with a marketing major and a business GIS minor . She is driven to make new connections and loves to be involved. Emily is the Executive Director of West Chester Dance Marathon; a non-profit organization raising money and awareness for the oncology department at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She also works for the Center for Community Solutions. As she works closely with the Business Improvement District, WC Chamber of Commerce, and the West Chester Cooperative performing location analysis and running social media platforms.
Riley Nolan
Riley is a junior at West Chester University currently pursuing her Bachelors in Location Analytics and Masters in Geographic Information Systems. She has previously participated in case competitions, placing 3rd with her team in the Beta Alpha Psi & WIPFLI Ethics Case Competition. Riley is passionate about her academics and being involved with the community. She is currently working with the Center of Community Solutions to create 3D models for the city of Coatesville and tutors underclassmen at WCU.

Tucker is a Junior at West Chester University pursuing a double major in Supply Chain Management, with a concentration in Healthcare, and Business Management. This was his first case competition. Tucker enjoys getting out of his comfort zone and expanding his skills whenever possible.
2021 Case Competition Winners
The WCU 2nd Annual Supply Chain Case Competition took place November 3rd, 2021. Students had two weeks to prepare their case solutions and presentations for a panelist of judges. The case involved IKEA pricing strategies and the positive and negative consequences of different price structures throughout their supply chain. Thank you to all our participants for competing in this year’s case competition! Everyone did a fantastic job and the judges were blown away by the quality of content and professionalism that all the students conveyed.

Currently I am a Supply Chain Intern at Ingersoll Rand, an air compressor manufacturer. Previously I have held positions as an Accounting Intern at an Insurance Lobbying firm in Washington DC, Logistics Intern at a Non-profit Diaper Bank, and a Supply Chain Intern at Sam’s Club. After graduation I will be joining Ernst & Young as a Supply Chain Consultant Intern in their Government & Public Sector practice.

At WCU I am a member of the entrepreneur club and the philanthropy chair of Tau Kappa Epsilon. I have helped raise over $2000 this semester to the children of St. Jude with my fraternity and I hope to help a variety of other charities soon.
