Research
Our research initiatives have included Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) training for community leaders, stress reduction training for students in the ASPIRE program (a collaboration between WCU and the Chester County Intermediate Unit), MBSR for fathers of young children with diagnoses of autism spectrum disorder, and studies of self-compassion and compassion in nursing students. The Center also adds to the scholarship of contemplative studies through publication of books and articles about theory and pedagogy for contemplative practices.

PASSHE Mindfulness Conference
On April 8 The West Chester University CCS hosted the first mindfulness conference for PASSHE schools. Representatives from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Lock Haven and Millersville were just some of the schools who met at CCS to see how mindfulness practices are being implemented in other PASSHE institutions.
