Academic Advising

Early Alert Students

Academic Success Programs provide workshops to assist students with a variety of academic and personal issues including college adjustment, personal issues, stress management, study skills, time management, and test-taking tips.

LARC

Learning Assistance & Resource Center (LARC) provides tutoring in languages, math, and other topics, as well as helping students with study skills and time management. Both advisees and advisors can benefit from the information on their Resources page.

OEA

Office of Educational Accessibility (OEA) offers a range of services for students with physical or learning disabilities, from testing to accommodation.

Career Development Center

Career Development Center offers services, programs, and resources such as the Ram Career Network that help you explore future career options as well as prepare for and secure internships and full-time employment. Students may schedule appointments for one-on-one personalized help as well as work on resume writing and interview preparation.

Information Services & Technology

Information Services & Technology/IT Help Desk is the primary point of contact for computer-related inquiries and problems, as well as the liaison between the campus community and the Client Services' technical personnel. IS&T has introduced ResNet Central as the primary support office for all student-related technology services. Located on the ground floor of Brandywine Hall, ResNet offers a convenient, central location serving on-campus residents, commuters, alumni and distance learners. This is also the location for questions about student accounts, locating an open computer lab, and computer hardware purchases. The IT Help Desk located on the ground floor of Anderson Hall provides technical support services to all Faculty and Staff. 

Pre-Major Academic Advising

Exploratory Studies helps undecided WCU students explore majors and guides students regarding course selection and grade requirements for those majors. Exploratory Studies recognizes that choosing a major and career direction is an important step in life, and making this decision is a complex process.

Student Assistance

Student Assistance provides assistance and support for students who are away from the campus for a minimum of three class days due to illness, personal or family emergencies. A note will be circulated to the student's professors advising the professor of the absence. The student is also encouraged to contact his/her professors to make arrangements on any missed work.

Library offers countless databases, books, journals, media, and more for students and faculty members to utilize for research and other learning purposes. Librarians are available for online chats to answer any questions students may have in regards to the library, research, citations, and more. The library offers several onsite-printing opportunities for faculty and students as well.

Writing Center

Writing Center provides free writing tutoring, workshops, and resources to the entire university community: undergraduate and graduate students, faculty and staff. Serving writers from diverse academic disciplines and cultural settings, our goal is to help you - either in person or online - become a better writer, reader, and critical thinker.
