MBA Admissions: Investing in Your Potential
The Master of Business Administration accepts applications at any time of the year. Applications are processed year-round for Spring, Summer, or Fall admission. There are six start dates every year. We can help guide you through the process. We’ve streamlined the admissions process, GMAT scores are optional, and provisional admission is available if you do not meet the requirements for full admission.
Our admissions process is designed to be holistic—we review every component of your application to understand your unique professional journey and your strong potential for success in a rigorous graduate program. We want to see evidence of academic excellence, professional maturity, and a foundational understanding of core business principles.
What We Look For: Your Potential for Success
Successful full admission applicants demonstrate three key elements, which we evaluate through a comprehensive review of your file:
1. A Strong Academic Foundation
We look for evidence of past academic success and the intellectual capacity to excel in graduate-level coursework.
-
- Undergraduate Degree: A bachelor’s degree (or higher) from an accredited institution.
- Academic Record: A strong cumulative GPA demonstrates the rigor and discipline needed to succeed in our program (typically a 3.0 or above).
2. Professional Maturity and Experience
Your real-world experience is a critical component of our program, enriching classroom discussions and practical learning. A minimum of two years of relevant professional work experience is typically required for full admission. We value the practical insights and perspective this experience brings to your studies. Provisional admission is available if you have less than two years' experience.
3. Essential Business Acumen
To hit the ground running, students need a working knowledge of core business fundamentals. We offer flexibility in how you demonstrate this competency. We recognize that knowledge is gained through many paths, not just traditional schooling. You can demonstrate competence through any of the following:
-
- Relevant Professional Experience: Documented work history in a business related field.
- Prior College Coursework: Successful completion of relevant business courses.
- Third-Party Certifications: Professional certifications or training.
- GMAT/GRE: Submitting a GMAT/GRE score is optional.
Your Application Checklist
To help us evaluate your potential for success, please submit the following documents:
-
- Official Transcripts: From all prior college-level institutions.
- Professional Essay: A detailed essay that outlines your career plans. Use this essay to connect your professional or academic history to business fundamentals.
- Current Resume: A comprehensive resume highlighting your work history and any professional or academic experience that showcases your knowledge of business.
- Two Letters of Recommendation: At least one letter should be from a professional supervisor or colleague who can speak to your work ethic, maturity, and potential for leadership. Traditional students with limited experience may submit a professor's recommendation.
Pathway to Provisional Admission
Don't let a single requirement stop you from applying!
We recognize that highly qualified applicants may not perfectly fit every criterion (for instance, perhaps you have less than 2 years' experience or a lower GPA from years ago).
Provisional admission is available to applicants who demonstrate strong potential for successful completion of the program but who have not yet completely satisfied all requirements for full admission. If you believe your experience and drive make you an ideal candidate, we encourage you to apply. We will review your file holistically. If you are provisionally admitted, you'll need to meet specific grade requirements in your first few classes to remain in the program.
