West Chester Lands 25 Former Student-Athletes, Coaches, and Staff
on PSAC 75th Anniversary List

The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC), celebrating its 75th anniversary season in 2025-26, honored 300 of its most prominent former studentathletes, coaches, administrators, athletic trainers, and others throughout September.

Among that list of 300 prominent PSAC representatives were 25 from West Chester University.

Individuals were honored in four categories: Made in the PSAC, Greatest Female Student-Athletes, Greatest Male Student-Athletes, and Distinguished Keystones. Made in the PSAC included a group that recognized former student-athletes who have gone on to influential careers after graduation; those careers could be in the sports industry, but not necessarily as a professional athlete. The second and third categories focused solely on the former student-athletes who brought prestige and pride to the PSAC. The final category included staff, coaches, or administrators who have been historically influential in the PSAC.

All 300 honorees were selected through a process that included nominations from institutions and selections by committee. The committee comprised institutional and PSAC staff. An individual could not appear on more than one list.

“Any time you attempt to honor the greatest over 75 years, you know you’re going to face tough choices,” said PSAC Commissioner Steve Murray. “No list can ever capture everyone who’s made a difference. This process was thorough, heartfelt, and rooted in fairness, even if it couldn’t be perfect. What matters most is that we celebrate the legacy of the PSAC and the extraordinary people who helped shape it. That legacy lives in far more than 300 names — it lives in the pride of every person who’s ever been part of this conference.”

The PSAC was founded on March 11, 1951, and comprised 14 institutions as the Pennsylvania State Teachers College Athletic Conference (PSTCAC). Since then, it has grown into one of the largest conferences in the NCAA across all three divisions.
