Grab & Go Content

We recognize the powerful impact WCU faculty and staff have on our student's career development and know career conversations happen in many areas of the campus community. This curated grab-and-go content is meant to help you quickly and easily integrate career elements into your classroom or other student engagement areas. You will find assignments, grading rubrics, worksheet activities, and other aides to facilitate teaching and integration. 

If you are seeking specific content not found in these areas, please reach out for further conversation and support. Faculty members can contact their college liaison and staff members can contact the office at cdc@wcupa.edu.

D2L Course

A newly launched Career Development course is available on D2L, offering a comprehensive introduction to career readiness. Faculty can easily embed the course or specific modules within their classroom experience. This seamless integration supports academic success while preparing students for the workforce, making career development a natural part of every student’s learning journey. Topics include:

  • Introduction to Career Readiness
  • Resumes/Cover Letters: Storytelling & Content Basics
  • Executing a Job and Internship Search
  • Interview Preparation
  • Career Connections: Networking

Whether as required assignments, extra credit, or supplementary material, Career Development D2L modules offer a flexible and effective way to enhance classroom outcomes. Once a student completes a module, they earn a D2L badge which they can download and submit for proof of completion

Students have the following options to receive resume review support through our office:

  • BigResume on Big Interview.
  • Schedule an appointment, through Handshake, to meet with a staff or student staff member.  
  • Come by Drop-In Hours – no appointment needed. Hours vary by semester, click here for the current schedule. 
  • Email document to cdc@wcupa.edu and feedback will be returned within 2-3 business days
