RamCloud is a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) system which allows us to securely deliver applications for faculty and students to learn and work from any location using any device (including mobile devices) whether university owned or personal. As part of the continued transformation of business and IT models in the coming years and to support the undergraduate, graduate, hybrid and distance education programs, this is a major step for us in the adoption of the bring-your-own-device (BYOD) strategy.
