Alternative Grading System Preparation Work Session
When: Friday, January 9 from 11:00am to 1:00pm

Are you implementing an alternative grading system like mastery grading, specifications grading, standards-based grading, or ungrading for the spring semester? Would you like to create, refine, or modify your alternative grading structure in the company of other faculty who are doing the same? Join the Alternative Grading Faculty Learning Community for a work session to prepare your alternative grading system for the spring semester. Folks will be on hand with ideas, strategies and support. Lunch is included and registration is required.
Faculty Fusion 2026: Hot Topics with the TLC
When: Wednesday, January 14 from 11:30am to 3:30pm
Where: WCU Foundation, 202 Carter Drive, West Chester, PA
An in-person set of three interactive panels covering hot topics to help you prepare for the new semester. Each panel session includes:
- 25 minutes of presentation from a panel of WCU faculty experts
- 10 minutes of audience Q&A
- 15 minutes of table conversation with your peers
The three panels are:
- Strategies for Teaching Speaking Emphasis Courses
- Why do we have to learn this? Emphasizing the Relevance of your Course and Assignments to Enhance Student Motivation
- Faculty Care: How do you balance life with your work and work with your life?
