Student Awards and Scholarships

The Center for Civic Engagement and Social Impact encourages faculty, staff, students, and community partners to recognize WCU students who demonstrate a strong commitment to public service by nominating those individuals or groups for their achievements.

WCU Outstanding Civic Leadership Award

Criteria: This will be presented to an individual who exhibits an ongoing commitment to community service. Recipients should demonstrate a strong desire to serve their community and regularly participate in public service opportunities.

Award: Recipients receive a certificate and a scholarship through the West Chester University Foundation.

Who Can Nominate: Current students, WCU faculty/staff and recent alumni (defined as May 2023 graduates) There is no limit to the number of nominations that a group or individual receives. You may also self-nominate.

How to Submit Nominations: Nominator for this award has a series of questions to answer found in the award section on RamConnect. Nominations are due NO LATER than March 25, 2024 at 11:59 pm on RamConnect. 

Student Organization Community Service Award

Criteria: Qualifying recipients are a group/organization that has created, participated in, and coordinated a wide variety of community service projects that have made a difference in our community. (A listing of the projects should be attached to the application as a one page summary). Eligible service nominations will have occurred between March to March of the respective calendar year.

Who Can Nominate: Current student, WCU Faculty/staff and recent alumni (defined as May 2023 graduates) Groups can be nominated several times by different people there is no limit to the number of nominations that a group receives. You may also self-nominate.
