Organization and Event Promotion
Interested in publicizing events, volunteer needs, and organization information through our institutional channels? We can assist in promotion through the following:
- RamServe Newsletter – this is a biweekly newsletter covering on-campus events, community service opportunities, CCESI Announcements and more. Interested in subscribing? Click here!
- Social Media – See your needs posted on our departmental social media. Follow us on Instagram!
- Directory – Let our students, staff and faculty know more about your organization by joining our volunteer directory.
- Event- based promotion – Specific event-based promotion can be requested through our Community Partner Events Form.
Connect with Student Organizations
Make connections with on-campus student groups, meet student service organizations representatives, and facilitate partnership for one-off service events. This could involve hosting a group of West Chester students on-site for service, or providing a project for students to engage on campus.
Student Leadership Positions
Community partners can take part in one of our student placements programs, in which CCESI’s RamCorps team of student leaders engage in on-site service in a more enduring capacity. The students function as a member of your organization, while participating in service-learning leadership modules through our office. Partners are also invited to collaborate with our RamCorps OSA (Organizing Social Action) team. OSA students are on-campus leaders who focus in one of four issue areas: Health Equity, Environmental Activism, Food and Housing Equity, and Educational Equity. These students organize educational opportunities, service efforts, and advocacy events that benefit from community partner involvement
Service-Learning Courses
Service-learning is a teaching method that combines community service with curricular goals as it focuses on critical, reflective thinking and civic responsibility. CCESI can assist with creating partnerships with service-learning courses as well as community-engaged research.
What is service learning?
- Staff from the Center for Civic Engagement & Social Impact offer resources and support to faculty who are implementing service-learning in their courses and programs.
- West Chester University defines academic service-learning as a teaching method that
combines community service with curricular goals, as it focuses on critical, reflective
thinking and civic responsibility. This growing area in higher education is distinguished
from other experiential education approaches by benefiting both the provider and the
